Hong Kong has always occupied a unique position in global trade — a gateway city where East meets West, where manufacturers meet international distributors, where deals are structured across time zones and currencies without friction.
In June 2024, OSKAR-BEBEHUT exhibited at the Hong Kong International Exhibition, and it reinforced every reason we prioritize presence at major trade platforms across Asia.
Why Hong Kong Still Matters
In an era of digital sourcing and virtual product presentations, some might question the ROI of physical trade shows in Asia's most expensive city. We'd push back.
The buyers who attend Hong Kong's major trade events are not browsing — they are deciding. They arrive with clear sourcing mandates, defined quality benchmarks, and the authority to initiate real commercial conversations. A 20-minute meeting at a booth in Hong Kong can accelerate a partnership timeline that would otherwise take six months of email chains.
What We Showcased
For the Hong Kong show, we focused on three things: product breadth, manufacturing credibility, and market-specific compliance.
We brought our current children's trailer lineup — including both steel-frame and aluminum-frame configurations — alongside our cargo and pet trailer series. Every product was accompanied by its full compliance documentation: EN 15918 testing data for European buyers, ASTM F1625 records for North American partners.
For buyers evaluating us as an OEM partner, we also prepared a capability overview of our Jiaxing manufacturing facility — production line capacity, tooling options, QC infrastructure, and typical lead times by order volume.
The Conversations That Mattered
Two themes dominated our booth conversations in Hong Kong.
First: supply chain resilience. Buyers in 2024 are thinking carefully about geographic concentration of manufacturing risk. Our Jiaxing base, combined with our established logistics relationships through Ningbo and Shanghai ports, positioned us well in those conversations.
Second: customization depth. Multiple visitors weren't interested in our existing SKUs — they wanted to understand how far we could go on ODM development. How much can you modify the frame geometry? Can you redesign the harness attachment system? What's the minimum volume for a custom colorway?
Those questions reflect a market maturing beyond commodity sourcing into genuine product development partnerships. That's exactly the space OSKAR-BEBEHUT is built to occupy.
Building on Every Show
Each trade show adds a layer to a cumulative relationship network — conversations started in Hong Kong continue in Shanghai, are deepened in Tokyo, and eventually convert into orders and long-term agreements.
Hong Kong 2024 added important new contacts, renewed existing partner relationships, and gave us valuable market signal on where the Asia-Pacific bike trailer market is heading in the next 12–24 months.
We're incorporating all of it.
